Saint Clare School

School Goals

     For the past three years, Saint Clare School has been working toward the achievement of two strategic goals. Our first goal - to continue to upgrade and expand technology for all students by 2004 - was very successful. Our computer lab currently houses a 20 workstation, fully networked lab running a multiplatform approach using Windows 98 and up. A Windows 2000 server and a 512 DSL line were installed. The entire campus is networked. All teachers have Pentium III desktop workstations. Our report card system is web based and provides parent access to the students grades via the internet. Students use the lab for computer classes and research. Students learn keyboarding, data bases and spreadsheets. A computer club was established for middle school students who have learned to build and repair computer workstations.

Our second goal was to establish a resource team to evaluate and instruct special needs students. We were unsuccessful in accomplishing this goal. We feel there are several reasons this did not work but the largest reason was that we did not have the necessary resources or personnel. Our students, when identified, can be tested and evaluated through the home public school and Child Find. We receive lists of recommendations and accommodations and we work with the LEA toward the child's success.

After evaluating our previous goals, the faculty met together to plan new goals. It was decided that technology continues to play a large part in the lives of our students. We put a great deal of effort into making our school technologically sound. We do not wish to break the momentum. Our new goal will be the next step - integrating technology into the curriculum.
