Dear Parents and Guardians,

At last Wednesday's meeting, we made a commitment to keep you advised on developments at the school.  Today brought an important development. 

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Maggie Dates as the new principal at Saint Clare during this transitional period.  We told you that we were looking for an administrator who was competent, passionate about education and willing to commit to the balance of the academic year.  We are pleased that Mrs. Dates meets and exceeds our expectations. Mrs. Dates has a Masters Degree in School Counseling from Lynchburg College and an Administrative Certificate from Loyola College.  She also is enrolled currently in the Independent School Certificate Program at Johns Hopkins University.  She is married and has two children who attend Catholic school.     Once Mrs. Dates has grown familiar with her responsibilities here, we will begin planning for the school’s continued smooth operation in the 2009-2010 school year and beyond.

We are currently seeking a second grade teacher.  Mrs. Greensfelder has graciously agreed to teach this week.  We are in her debt.  As soon as we have secured a second grade placement, we will let you know.  Please know this is a top priority for us, as well.

Saint Clare School is strong and will continue to grow stronger.  We urge you to spread the good news of our school, that we are committed to excellence, that we have outstanding faculty and staff and that we care about each and every child.  Our school community has come together during this most difficult time.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers and rest assured you are in the prayers of our children, faculty and staff.
