- St. Anthony was born in Cremona in Lombardy in 1502 A.D. He was a doctor who turned priest. St. Anthony founded the Barnabites, The Society of Clerics of St. Paul, to reform society. He sought collaboration between the priests and the laity. St. Anthony died at the age 36 in 1539.
