The Social Action Awareness Committee

The Social Action Awareness Committee plans and coordinates the outreach activities of the parish to the poor and needy as well as being responsible for educational programs to make all parishioners more aware of the needs in our community.

Programs Include:

The Essex Hot Meal Program:

Provides a hot meal each Friday from 4:30pm to 6:00pm for the hungry in our area. Volunteers prepare casseroles and desserts and serve this meal in Stallings Hall. For more information please contact the Parish Office.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society

The St. Vincent de Paul Society provides assistance in the form of food and utility and rent assistance to needy residents of the Essex area. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.

The Blood Assurance Program

The Blood Assurance Program provides coverage through the Red Cross for all parish members who are in the need of blood because of sickness or injury. To maintain this coverage the parish must hold two on-site blood drives each year. Parishioners are also encouraged to designate donations for St. Clare when giving blood or platelets at other Red Cross sites. Please contact the Parish Center.
